Magnus Johan Engen, PhD, is a specialist in clinical psychologist and Head of the Early Bipolar Unit at Nydalen District Psychiatric Center, Oslo University Hospotal. He has broad training across multiple psychotherapy modalities. In recent years, he has focused on research and implementation of the Unified Protocol (UP) for bipolar disorders in a group format. He is heading ongoing projects, and mechanisms of change and utilizing insights from phenomenological psychopathology to improve interoception is a main research interest.  Engen also acts as an advisor and supervisor for clinicians implementing the UP within a Day Hospital setting for the general psychiatric population. He is a certified Level 3 UP Trainer, approved by the UP Institute in Boston.
